#strangetown rotational

strangetown, ready to begin playing. yeah, i got bored of ts4.

i love strangetown and i love the sims 2 but i've never been able to stick with one neighborhood for a long time, because i inevitably make it too complicated for myself, get overwhelmed and stop doing it. i don't want to do that anymore, i want to actually stick with a hood.

the hood is just strangetown + la fiesta tech. no downtown or shopping district right now, i want to keep the middle of nowhere vibe.

i couldn't resist adding some families, though

first of all, bella, of course. there's no clone townie here, just actual pleasantview bella. i was inspired by the implied storyline put together in lunar lakes in ts3. i know a lot of ts2 fans probably don't like it, but i do. so basically, what happened in my headcanon is that bella was abducted by aliens while pregnant with her and mortimer's 3rd kid, mathilde. the aliens used her as a test subject in a cloning project and dumped her in strangetown with her memory wiped when they didn't need her anymore. since then she's been stuck in strangetown and mathilde is the only remnant she has of her past life. i actually made bella a family sim since i figure mathilde is her priority now. though, i don't personally picture bella as a cheating romance sim or a gold digger even when married to mortimer.

emperor xizzle and burple from gba/ds, made by @/chrisnewbie :) not much to say here, it's all from the strangeytown custom hood. i just love these two though, i had to put them in.

tristan legend and optimum alfred, also by @/chrisnewbie. in strangeytown, chrisnewbie had optimum alfred living with lord mole, but i decided to change it for my hood, playing as lord mole didn't really interest me. i love optimum alfed, he's cool and he looks sort of like a dinosaur or something to me. he is a servo of course.

and horus menhoset ix, also by @/chrisnewbie. but i put him in a mummy outfit. he is a zombie, of course. i think playing with him will be interesting. an elder zombie shy popularity sim. i like it.

so yeah, now the only thing i need to do is the custom lifespan and i'm ready to start. i'm not sure if the clean template i used has scripted events, i hope it does but it's ok if it doesn't, i'll still try to act them out.

i'm a little bothered about something though, i downloaded a restaurant made by pleasantsims, and when i placed it down, there was literally a bartender inside of it? this really concerned me and i immediately bulldozed the lot, left the game and ran hoodchecker which did remove a bunch of stuff. i know that hoodchecker isn't a perfect fix so i really hope the hood is ok. but if it ends up not being ok, i'll accept it and just start over with a new strangetown, add all the new sims again, the new lots, etc. which would be annoying but i can live with it.

also, i added virginya feng by chrisnewbie to be the town's vampire since there's no downtown, but i made her a townie.

These are all kids of pleasantview-strangetown premades in my current save. All except the redhead alien; she’s my character in the sims 2 PSP (And an icon). God, I love these peanuts. They grow up so fast.

Now that Nervous is officially part of the Curious family, he has gotten started in the photography career, constantly snapping shots with his crappy camera. The pictures aren't bringing in much money, but Nervous is satisfied (for the most part) that he's finally getting one step closer to his dream job.

After a long day of taking photos around town, Pascal, always thoughtful, decides to surprise Nervous with a top-of-the-line camera. Nervous is over the moon with gratitude, feeling both excited and inspired by the generous gift. With the perfect camera to capture every moment, this gift is the start of something special for Nervous' career.

ever since I made the Milias (Melanie and Hera), I've been itching SO badly to make my own custom neighborhood in ts2... I can't build for the shit of me, especially in sims 2, which is one of the reasons why I don't wanna do it- another reason is that, while I love making lore for characters, I find it difficult for me to make cohesive flowing lore between two characters, like just intermingling Roo and Leo's lore is tough enough, and considering just how insanely deep rooted sims 2's lore is, I just feel like mine would go incredibly unmatched 😭

I started this save late 2022 and am currently on round 12! Unfortunately couldn't play it last year so it's been nice returning to the save this month :-D

I have way more screenshots than this (over 3000!) but idk how many more I plan on posting atm, might make a video sharing this save in the future but again, not sure :P

Strange-Blossom turn 2: Grunt

Ripp basically failed school, Buck was friendly with Buzz and Pups Buck. Other than that not much happened. Everybody was too busy with school. Ripp did manage to sneak out to Downtown Simcity to drink some coffee though and he did work on that broken down car they have in their yard. Now he just wants to move away right away. We will see if General lets him do that without causing a scene.

i will do both, but this poll is which comes first. if strangetown wins, it will go pleasant rotation then strange rotation then pleasant etc etc, if not we'll do strangetown after rotation 2, so two rotations for each town instead of one.

so if Pleasantview wins - switch towns every 2 rotations if Strangetown wins - switch towns after every rotation.
